A new Halloween event has been announced for Call of Duty: Warzone which kicks off today (19th October) and runs all the way until 2nd November 2021. The ongoing event will feature new unlockable items, a limited-time game mode called “Ghosts of Verdansk” and more. The highlight of the event is the LAPA SMG which can be unlocked in either Black Ops Cold War or Warzone. Activision has partnered with the Scream movie franchise and there are exclusive operator bundles that can be purchased during the Haunting event.
What’s new in the Warzone Haunting event?
Here is everything that is coming to Warzone as part of the new Haunting event:
LAPA SMG
During The Haunting event, there will be two sets of challenges. Each set has 9 challenges each, for Warzone and Black Ops Cold War, with 19 items of the likes of Weapon Blueprints and more to earn. In addition to rewards earned for completing each challenge players will unlock the new LAPA SMG. The challenges will be based around the new game mode coming to Warzone.
Ghosts of Verdansk
Ghosts of Verdansk is a unique take on battle royale in Warzone where players will not be sent to the gulag if they get taken down. Instead, they will turn into ghosts as long as one party member is alive. Ghosts will not have access to weapons but they will be able to super jump, teleport and stun enemies.
There is also a fear meter that builds up and players will start experiencing hallucinations at 50% or higher. As a surprise for players Raven Software has not revealed what happens if you let the bar go all the way up to a 100%.
There will also be some additional modes available during the event including Scream Deathmatch, Prop Hunt Halloween and Infected.
Scream and Frank the Rabbit Operator Bundles
The limited-time SCREAM Operator Bundle will be available tomorrow. The bundle is being used to promote the new Scream movie which releases in January 2022. Warzone players will get to purchase the new Ghostface skin as well as a new finishing move, weapon charm and more.
There is another cosmetic bundle which will be available starting 24th October featuring the “Frank the Rabbit” Operator Skin from the 2001 movie Donnie Darko. There will also be a trio of Ultra-rarity Operator Skins across three Bundles coming out Halloween week, starting with the Tracer Pack: Necro Queen Reactive Mastercraft. Pricing information for the skins is yet to be officially revealed.
