The level of competition within India when it comes to Valorant is improving at a rapid pace with the tier-two circuit witnessing strong competition and rivalries.

An exciting clash occurred between Gods Reign and Reckoning Esports during the grand final of the Yuddha Cup Season 1 Phase 2 - All India Valorant Championship. Gods Reign walked away as the champion following a close '2-1' victory.

The open for all Valorant tournament had a total of 128 slots up for grabs which were filled on a first-come-first-served basis. The final eight teams fought it out in the playoffs for a total prize pool of INR 2,00,000 ($2,474 USD).

The Yuddha Cup Season 1 Phase 1 featured the popular mobile esports title Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) but for Phase 2 of the tournament, organizers decided to switch to Valorant due to the mobile game facing a ban by the Indian Government.

Despite the switch in the competing title, the level of excitement remained more or less the same with some of the best tier-two teams from across the country stepping up and putting on quite the show.

The eight teams that managed to reach the playoffs were as follows:

  1. Team Valor

  2. Gods Reign

  3. LFO

  4. Medal Esports

  5. Minion Gang

  6. Reckoning Esports

  7. Goblin Attackers

  8. Lethal Esports

Four teams - Team Valor, Gods Reign, LFO, and Medal Esports, started from the upper bracket while the remaining four teams started from the lower bracket, resulting in an exciting series that was both competitive and exciting.

All of it culminated with the grand final taking place between Gods Reign and Reckoning Esports. The first map, Icebox, ended with a '13-2' scoreline in favor of Gods Reign, it seemed as if the series would culminate shortly but Reckoning fought back on the second map, Bind, securing a '13-8' win to level the scoreline.

The decider took place on Pearl, where Reckoning tried to put on a brave face and took on the relentless attack of Gods Reign head on, but unfortunately the team was not able to hold them off and went down '13-5'.

It was a great grand finals and Gods Reign with three consecutive victories took hold of the trophy along with INR 1,00,000 in prize money.
