The Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) Europe Stage 3 Challengers 1 has been an event-packed tournament but day two saw some major upsets with Team Liquid and Fnatic being knocked out of the event. With six teams going up against each other on day two of the Valorant Champions Tour Europe Stage 3 Challengers 1, Liquid and Fnatic fell short while Guild Esports, Acend, FunPlus Phoenix, and G2 Esports are still in contention. Guild Esports will be going up against Acend at the upper bracket final while FunPlus Phoenix will go up against G2 Esports. Both matches will take place on 9th July with the event finals set to take place on 11th July.

Fnatic And Team Liquid Will not be competing in the EMEA playoffs

While Fnatic started off strong against their match in Ascent and secured a win, things went downhill immediately. Guild Esports was able to bounce back and won two matches back-to-back and knocked Fnatic out of the event. In the evening’s second upset, Team Liquid went up against Acend and failed to secure a single win. Team Liquid’s performance at the entire event has been disappointing for fans as the team got knocked into the lower bracket after its very first match against Fnatic, and the roster will be looking to recuperate from its losses in future Challengers events.

There are only four European teams left in the current Challengers event and it will be interesting to see which team secures a spot for next Masters event. The VALORANT Champions Tour will head to Berlin, Germany for Stage 3 Masters. Masters Berlin will begin on 9th September and will bring together 16 teams from around the world to compete for points that will count towards qualification at VALORANT Champions, the final event of the 2021 VCT.

The tournament will conclude with a final scheduled to take place on 19th September. The competition will take place at Verti Music Hall - host of 2019 League of Legends World Championship Group Stage.

Once Stage 3 is over, the stage will be set for the first ever Valorant Champions event which will feature the top teams from all three Masters events. The grand finals of the Valorant Champions event will take place in Q4 2021.
