The FaZe clan has become the latest in a line of organizations pulling out of Valorant esports as it heads into the off-season. In an announcement via Twitter, FaZe Clan bid farewell to the men’s Valorant roster and expressed its gratitude.
The team could only manage 7th and 6th place finishes in Valorant Challengers 2023: North American Split 1 and 2. As a result, the team has not managed to qualify for the Valorant Challengers Ascension 2023 which could have opened doors into the 2024 and 2025 Americas Leagues. These performance related issues could have played a part in the roster’s departure from the organization.
However, the organization still holds on to its female division, FaZe Clan GC, which will compete in the Valorant Champions Tour 2023: Game Changers North America Series 2.
FaZe Clan Says Goodbye To Fans
Announcing its exit via Twitter, FaZe Clan officially bid adieu to its male roster, thanking the players and staff for representing the organization’s Valorant division.
With Valorant esports heading into an offseason of sorts. With no clear indicators of a competitive calendar following the conclusion of the Valorant Champions Tour 2023, organizations and players are reevaluating their presence in the scene and making roster changes to evolve. FaZe Clan’s men’s Valorant division could just be refreshing its lineup as we head into the off season.
FaZe is currently battling financial instability with NASDAQ sending it a delisting notice to the organization due to its inability to uphold the minimum stock price of $1. The share price of the clan had remained below $1 for more than 30 business days.
While the FaZe Clan is in troubled waters, an acquisition could be on the horizon for the North American organization. According to the Sports Business Journal, FaZe is currently listening to different acquisition offers from GameSquare and Enthusiast Gaming. Both companies own notable esports teams like Complexity and Luminosity Gaming, respectively.
However, Enthusiast Gaming has since denied that it is potentially seeking to acquire FaZe Clan in an email to Esports Insider.
