Velocity Gaming has announced that it has signed Karan “Excali” Mhaswadkar to its Valorant roster. It was rumored for a long time that Excali would join Velocity Gaming, and it has turned out to be true. The organization posted a roughly five and a half minutes long video on YouTube, announcing its latest acquisition. Moving forward, the pro Valorant player will play under the banner of Velocity Gaming in all championship titles, including the Valorant Championship Tour 2023 (VCT 2023).

Excali to play for Velocity Gaming in VCT 2023

The current roster of Velocity Gaming includes the following players:1

  • Excali

  • Anuj “Amaterasu" Sharma

  • Tejas "rite2ace" Sawant

  • Sagnik “Hellff” Roy

  • Debanjan “DEATHMAKER” Roy

  • Saksham "Deadly10" Aurangabadkar

With the addition of Excali, the current roster of Velocity Gaming includes six players. The organization has yet to reveal which players will be in the playing five and who will be benched moving forward. So far, all the players have been showing impressive performances. As a result, it will be a tough decision for the organization to bench a player from these six players.

After almost two years away from the team, Excali has returned to Velocity Gaming. He will once again be playing with his former teammates under the same banner. However, Sabyasachi “Antidote” Bose will still be missing from the original Velocity Gaming 2022 Valorant roster.

Excali is a former Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) professional player. With Valorant’s global launch, he retired from CS:GO and started playing Valorant professionally. He started his competitive Valorant journey with Velocity Gaming in July 2020. The team was arguably the best South Asian team with the inclusion of Excali. At that time, it won numerous titles, including the TEC Challenger Series 1, 2, 4, and 5.

In December 2020, the organization rebranded to Team Mahi. In April 2021, Excali left Team Mahi and joined Samurai Esports, which later turned out to be a controversial transfer. It caused a great stir in the Indian Valorant community. However, soon, both the involved organizations reached an agreement.

Excali has been an influential personality in the Indian competitive Valorant scene since the beginning. The pro player has shown a consistent performance throughout his professional journey so far. He has changed six organizations so far but has been consistent in all of them. With Excali on the team, Enigma Gaming ranked third in the Valorant Conqueror Championship 2022: Stage 1 earlier this year.
