Riot Games just dropped a trailer for its newest agent Gekko, and fans are going wild. Agent Gameplay Designer Ryan Cousart was present during the Valorant Champions Tour LOCK//IN event, revealing details about the upcoming agent’s kit. Here is everything you need to know about Gekko in Valorant including his agent class, abilities, and release date.

Valorant Gekko agent class and gameplay overview

Gekko is an Initiator who can summon various pets with their own unique abilities. Depending on which skill he uses, you can stun, blind, reveal and disable enemies. 

He seeks to control areas with his abilities and turn the tides of battle against other ability-reliant agents. Disabling abilities is an important part of his kit and it will be interesting to see how he affects the casual and competitive metas. 

Valorant Gekko abilities

Here is a breakdown of all of Gekko’s abilities.

Dizzy (E) - Ability

FIRE to send Dizzy forward into the air. Dizzy charges up and sends out beams at enemies in their line of sight. When enemies are hit, they are blinded.

When Dizzy Expires, they turn into a glob that can be picked up to be used again after a short cooldown.

Wingman (Q) - Ability

FIRE to send Wingman forward looking for enemies. If an enemy is found, Wingman fires a concussive blast in a triangular shape to the first enemy seen.

ALT FIRE when looking at Site or Planted Spike to Plant (You must have the spike) or Defuse the Spike. Wingman can be destroyed by other players while planting or defusing the spike. 

When Wingman Expires, he turns into a glob that can be picked up to be used again after a short cooldown.

Thrash (X) - Ultimate

FIRE to control & link with Thrash to steer her. FIRE while in the Ultimate to lunge forward and explode, detaining any enemies within their radius.

When Thrash Expires, she turns into a glob that can be picked up to be used again after a short cooldown. Thrash can only be reclaimed ONCE.

Valorant Gekko release date

Gekko will release along with the Episode 6 Act 2 update for Valorant. Depending on your region, you can expect to see the new agent in-game on 7th or 8th March.
