Everything You Need to Know About Apex Legends’ Wintertide 2022 Event

Apex Legends’ holiday season celebrations are commencing on 6th December and there are free rewards up for grabs as well as the return of the Winter Express game mode. There will be a Wintertide Collection event as well in the Store which will introduce 24 new cosmetics and unlocking all of them will grant players the new Wraith Voidshifter Prestige skin. During the event, players can also earn battle pass progression as there are dozens of battle pass XP stars up for grabs.

Winter Express Event Rerun

There will be no new event this year but Respawn Entertainment is bringing back the Winter Express game mode. If you have not played the mode in previous years, here’s a quick rundown of the event. 

The goal of Winter Express is to capture the Train or kill everyone. The Train stops at a Station each Round in World’s Edge. The whole Train functions as a control point, which must be boarded to start capturing it. Capturing the Train, or killing every enemy player so that no one can contest the capture, yields 1 point. Once a point is scored, the Round ends and a new one begins.

Players can choose between five different weapon Loadouts, which vary according to the Loadout's name. All Loadouts will also have one type of ordinance. The Loadouts are fully kitted and come with attachments. These Loadouts are predetermined based on the Legends you pick.

Wintertide Collection Event

During the event, there will be free items for grabs including crafting materials, a Gibraltar skin, an Alternator skin, and more. You can earn up to 1,600 points per day and challenges refresh daily. All these challenges also stack with your Battle Pass so you can complete multiple challenges at once. Three sets of challenges will be available for a week each starting 6th December.

In terms of paid cosmetics, Wintertide will include limited-time Legendary cosmetics for Bangalore, Crypto, Newcastle, Valkyrie, Gibraltar, and Bloodhound with complementary weapons. All 24 items will be available through direct purchase (for Apex Coins or Crafting Metals) and in Wintertide Event Apex Packs for the entire duration of the event.

Unlocking all 24 items will reward players with the new Wraith Prestige skin “Apex Voidshifter.” You can also craft the skin directly if you have 150 Heirloom Shards.
