Highlights
Dr Disrespect has partnered with other gaming industry veterans from Call of Duty, Halo and Gears to launch his own gaming studio.
Called "Midnight Society", the studio has a PVP multiplayer game in the pipeline.
Fans and influencers will get "day zero" access to the game to help its development based on player feedback.

Earlier this year, Herschel “Dr Disrespect” Beahm IV’s website revealed information about an upcoming game studio that was being created by the popular content creator. The Champions Club website run by Dr Disrespect had a job listing for a gaming studio head which led to speculation that Doc might be working on his own AAA gaming titles. Doc has finally confirmed the launch of his game studio ‘Midnight Society.”

Midnight Society is working on a PVP multiplayer game

Soon after the reveal of Midnight Society, the studio’s official Twitter account revealed that it is looking to build a core team that will work on a PVP multiplayer game from the ground up. The studio is giving players and influencers access to the very early stages of game development and it will allow the developers to work on the game while taking in player feedback.

The whole idea sounds like the early access model a lot of developers adopt when launching their titles. In Midnight Society’s case, players have a say in what needs to be implemented at an earlier stage than other early access titles which typically become available a year or two before launch.

While Doc is a content creator, he is no stranger to game development. He has previously worked as a developer at Sledgehammer Games, which is one of the studios behind Call of Duty. He worked on 2014’s COD: Advanced Warfare and even as a streamer he has worked with developers to create content for games. Most recently, he helped create “The Champions Club” map in Rogue Company.

Midnight Society is backed by BoomTV founder Sumit Gupta

Midnight Society was created by Doc in partnership with Robert ‘fourzerotwo’ Bowling and Quinn DelHoyo, who have worked on titles like Halo, Call of Duty, and Gears of War. The studio is also backed by BoomTV founder Sumit Gupta.

Doc has teased a “vertical battle royale” for a long time and his concept may finally become a reality. For a very long time, he has wanted to create a battle royale where players spawn in a building and try to make their way to the top floor. Only time will tell whether or not his concept will be brought to life by Midnight Society.
