Convergence 2023 has been announced as Riot Games' first-ever international Valorant tournament in India.
The tournament will be taking place in Bengaluru from 14th to 17th December at the Manpho Convention Center.
A total of six directly invited VCT-partnered teams will be competing in this tournament, including the home favorites Global Esports.

Riot Games is about to host its first-ever international Valorant esports event in India called Convergence 2023 in partnership with local tournament organizers, The Esports Club.

Convergence 2023 is scheduled to take place from 14th to 17th December in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India at the Manpho Convention Center, featuring six directly invited teams from across the world.

The grand international tournament is part of the VCT 2023 OFF//SEASON and will be played in front of a live audience on LAN with overseas teams like FURIA Esports, FUT Esports, Gen.G Esports, and Team Vitality in attendance, alongside the home favorites Global Esports.


Convergence 2023: Riot Games to Host First-Ever International Valorant Esports Event in India

2023 is going to end on a crazy high for the Indian Valorant community as Riot Games has decided to host its first official international tournament in the country.

A total of six teams will be competing on LAN in Convergence 2023, five overseas invites, and Global Esports, the only Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) partnered team from the South Asian region.

Through this tournament, Riot Games wants to showcase its commitment to the growing gaming culture in the country and has decided to host this spectacle in Bengaluru, which is often referred to as the Silicon Valley of India.

Out of the six teams invited for Convergence 2023, five have already been revealed by the organizers while details about the sixth are still awaited.

  1. FURIA Esports - Brazil | VCT Americas

  2. FUT Esports - Turkey | VCT EMEA

  3. Team Vitality - France | VCT EMEA

  4. Gen.G Esports - South Korea | VCT Pacific

  5. Global Esports - India | VCT Pacific

  6. TBD

These are some of the best Valorant teams from around the world and are also a part of the Valorant Champions Tour in Asia Pacific (APAC), Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA), and Americas.

The teams represent the pinnacle of professional Valorant esports and their participation in this event automatically raises the level of competition that the audience can witness from 14th to 17th December.


Sukamal Pegu - Esports Lead, India & South Asia, Riot Games, said that this tournament is Riot's way of thanking the Indian fans, who have supported the game since its release in 2020.

"We have also since grown the India team to deliver such hyperlocal experiences to our players here. With Convergence, Indian fans will finally get to see some of their favorite Valorant athletes perform in person and also interact with them off-stage. It will be a perfect ending to the 2023 VCT season and we are just getting started here in India for such international events,” states Sukamal.
