Rumors had started surfacing that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is coming to the Nintendo Switch. Soon after, fans spotted a server listing for the Nintendo Switch on Activision’s ‘Online Services’ page. The page shows the status of all Activision’s servers for its games. Fans spotted the server listing but the page was updated and it no longer shows Nintendo Switch as a supported platform for Call of Duty.

Is Call of Duty coming to the Nintendo Switch?

It is possible that Call of Duty is coming to Nintendo’s portable console but it could also be a technical glitch at Activision’s end. The publisher has not officially confirmed the release of any Call of Duty game for the platform.

Brad Smith, Microsoft’s president and vice-chair, said in a blog, "We’d like to bring it (Call of Duty) to Nintendo devices. We’d like to bring the other popular titles that Activision has, and ensure that they continue to be available on PlayStation and that they become available on Nintendo."

Popular Call of Duty leaker RalphsValve said on Twitter that Activision is reportedly considering releasing Remastered Call of Duty titles repurposed for the Nintendo Switch. The last time a Call of Duty game was available on Nintendo Switch was during the Wii U days. Activision released Call of Duty: Ghosts and Call of Duty: Black Ops II in the early 2010s.

Nintendo’s handheld console has become a massive success with the company reporting 103 million units sold as of 31st December 2021. The console also received multiple hardware refreshes and updates and it will continue to serve as the company’s flagship console for years to come.

Fans should take the leaks with a grain of salt as Activision has not officially confirmed any of the leaks. The recent server listing could be a case of a technical error. But the possibility of Call of Duty making a return to Nintendo consoles is exciting and it could turn out to be a massive success.
