It is the time of year where fans get excited for a brand new map in Apex Legends. Respawn has released its previous two maps towards the end of the year, and it looks like Year Three of Apex Legends will be no different. Data miners have discovered information about a “Tropic Island” map, which is expected to be added next season, once Season 10: Emergence ends. Season 11 will be the fourth and final seasonal content drop for 2021 and fans are excited to try out the new map. Here is everything we know about Apex Legends’ Tropic Island map.
Apex Legends’ Tropic Island map overview
The tropic island map in Apex Legends was first leaked back in 2020 along with Olympus by well-known data miner ‘Shrugtal.’ Both Tropic Island and Olympus were discovered by the data miner, and Respawn went on to release Olympus in Season 7 while Tropic Island is yet to be added to the game. It looks like the map is still in development with Shrugtal posting a video about the new map and revealing that vehicles will be making a return on the new map.
The ‘Trident’ vehicle was first added to Apex Legends in Olympus last year and it looks like we will be receiving a similar vehicle in the upcoming map. There also seems to be AI wildlife in the new map, which will add a PVE component to the game during matches. The game already has “Trials”, which lets players fight small groups of AI enemies for high-tier loot in World’s Edge. Something similar may be added to the game on a larger scale in the new map.
Apex legends Tropic Island images leaked
Images that are allegedly from Apex Legends’ upcoming Tropic Island map were leaked by Apex Legends YouTuber Thordan Smash. You can check out the images in the short video below.
Shrugtal mentioned that the upcoming map could be based in Gaea. In the most recent Apex Legends in-game comic, it was revealed that Gaea is home to Crypto, Rampart and Caustic. And in one of the comic panels, Caustic tells Crypto that it is time to “go home.”
Apex Legends Tropic Island Map release date
With Season 11 lining up with the release window for previous maps in 2019 and 2020, Respawn Entertainment might continue the trend of releasing new maps for the last season of the year. Players to their delight may get the new Apex Legends Tropic Island map next season.
Season 10 is scheduled to end on 3rd November, and Season 11 should commence on the same day. Respawn Entertainment is yet to confirm any of the leaks but the studio will most likely share official information nearing the release of the next major content drop.
