Apex Legends Season 11: Escape is set to launch on 2nd November 2021 and Respawn Entertainment has revealed all of the new content and balance changes coming to the game. In addition to the new legend Ash and the Storm Point map, there are massive changes coming to the battle pass system as well as balance changes that are long overdue. Here is a quick rundown of the Apex legends Season 11: Escape patch notes.
Apex Legends Season 11: Escape – New Map
The new map is the biggest highlight of the patch notes for Apex Legends Season 11. The tropical island map was leaked last year and it is finally making its way to the game as part of the annual update. There will be PVE elements added in the game with players being forced to deal with the weather, wild animals and more.
Storm Point is the biggest map in Apex Legends till date and it remains to be seen if it replaces World’s Edge as the go-to map for competitive play. In addition to the new map, there will also be a new map rotation with World’s Edge and Storm Point being the two options available for ranked across both splits. Olympus and King’s Canyon will not be available in Season 11.
Apex Legends Season 11: Escape – C.A.R SMG
The C.A.R SMG is the fifth SMG to be added to the game. We have had the Alternator, Prowler, R-99 and Volt as the only options for quite some time with Volt being the last SMG that was added over a year ago. The C.A.R will make use of both light and heavy ammo, making it the first weapon of its kind.
Apex Legends Season 11: Escape – New Legend
Ash is the latest legend that is being added to Apex Legends. Here is a quick rundown of her abilities:
Snare (Tactical): Ash’s Snare allows her to throw down a spinning blade that can shock and tether enemies that get too close to it. It is like an Arc Star but with a better stun effect and it seems like its usage could have a high skill cap considering the difficulty of landing Arc Stars at a distance.
Phase Breach (Ultimate): It is a one-way portal that instantly sends you to your target location in a straight line. While it might not have the supportive capabilities of Wraith’s portals, it can be used very offensively or to get out of sticky situations in an instant.
Marked for Death (Passive): Ash will be able to see the locations of recent deathboxes and if any surviving players are nearby, she will be able to track them. While it is not as potent as other Recon character abilities, it can be very useful to hunt down players who are escaping and prevent them from respawning their teammates.
Apex Legends Season 11 Ranked Changes
Prior to Season 11, kill points were offered in a linear fashion and the rank of the players you killed did not matter. Starting from the new season, the game will account for the tier differences between the player and the victim and if you get kills on players who are higher rank than you, you will receive bonus points.
If you are killed by a player of a lower rank, you will not lose any additional points. Placement points will remain unchanged.
Apex Legends Season 11: Balance Changes
Wattson
Wattson is receiving changes to her kit with Perimeter Defense’s cooldown being reduced, allowing her to place more fences. Her ultimate ability ‘Ultimate Interception’ is receiving nerfs to its duration to balance out her kit.
Supply Drop
The G7 Scout will replace the Triple Take in the supply package. The Triple Take will be reverted to its pre-care package stats which means longer reload speeds, more recoil and a smaller magazine.
The G7 Scout will receive a golden barrel stabilizer and it will come with the Double-Tap Trigger hop-up.
