- Apex Legends' damage record set by iiTzTimmy in February 2021 has been broken by Japanese YouTuber RakyThought.
- The player clocked 10864 damage in a single match playing Octane and he got 26 kills.
- His teammates gave him armor swaps to keep his health topped up during fights to achieve the record.
Japanese YouTuber RakyThought clocked 10864 damage in a single match, which broke Apex Legends’ damage world record that was set by popular Twitch streamer iiTzTimmy. The previous Apex Legends damage record was set by iiTzTimmy in a solo game where he managed to get over 9000 damage. The record was intact since February with multiple content creators trying to break the Apex Legends damage record but failing to do so. However, Japanese YouTuber RakyThought posted a game on YouTube where he got over 10,000 damage in a single match.
RakyThought Thinks iiTzTimmy’s Apex Legends Damage Record is More Valuable
After posting the video of him getting over 10,000 damage, RakyThought said that iiTzTimmy’s achievement of getting 9,069 damage back in February 2021 is more commendable. His reasoning was that Timmy managed to get over 9000 damage solo which is much more difficult than playing with a full squad in RakyThought’s case.
Apex Legends introduced a no-fill mode earlier this season which allows players to load into matches solo. However, the game tries to fill the lobbies with 60 players even if there are players without teammates. Defeating teams of 3 players over and over again as a solo player in Apex Legends is very difficult.
Unlike other games like Fortnite or Warzone, the time-to-kill in Apex Legends is very difficult. Players can get high damage games through attrition-heavy fights where players deal a lot of poke damage and heal up. With Shield Batteries, Medkits, and other healing items being available in abundance, it takes a lot of damage to take out an entire team. More importantly, the presence of upgrading EVO shields that soak up to 125 damage, makes it possible for players to rake in big damage numbers.
Respawn Entertainment rewards players for crossing 2000, 2500, 3000 and 4000 damage marks with special badges. But players like iiTzTimmy and RakyThought have achieved numbers above and beyond what the average player is capable of.
iiTzTimmy is Already Attempting to Break The Current Record
After finding out that his record was broken, iiTzTimmy is already attempting to break the new record. The streamer competed in the recent Apex Legends Twitch Rivals event and after TSM’s Albralelie took home the first prize, Timmy attempted to break the current record on stream on May 21. He failed to achieve the record so far but he will continue his attempts and it remains to be seen if he manages to break RakyThought’s Apex Legends damage record of 10864.
