Indian esports organization Team Mahi announced the signing of CS:GO veteran Agneya "Marzil" Koushik as part of its Valorant roster. The announcement came just days after Karan “Excali” Mhaswadkar moved to Samurai Esports which has led to some controversy within the Indian Valorant community. Marzil is known for his achievements in CS:GO and his consistent performances at the Taiwan Excellence Gaming Cups and ESL India Premierships. The player will be competing in Valorant moving forward under the Team Mahi banner. The Valorant organization is among the best in India with TM being currently ranked #7 in the Asia-Pacific leaderboards on vlr.gg.

Why Did Marzil Switch From CS:GO to Valorant

Marzil revealed that he was not getting any team practice over the last month due to the real-life commitments of players. The lack of practice affected his chances of winning tournaments and qualifiers that he recently participated in. He is not interested in joining a different CS:GO organization as he does not want to start from scratch all over again, which is why he is moving to Valorant.

Karan “Excali” Mhaswadkar joined Samurai Esports without fulfilling all terms within his contract at Team Mahi which led to controversy within the community. Team Mahi seeks to take legal action against Excali and Samurai Esports. Excali’s departure opened up a slot at the organization and TM was quick to sign Marzil who has been part of the CS:GO community for nine years.

Marzil’s entry to Team Mahi’s Valorant roster and the departure of Excali has completely changed how the roster looks like. Here is the current TM Valorant roster:

  • Anuj “Amaterasu” Sharma
  • Tejas “rite2ace” Sawant
  • Vibhor ‘Vibhor” Vaid
  • Sabyasachi “Antidote” Bose
  • Sagnik “HelIff” Roy
  • Agneya “Marzil” Koushik

Marzil has competed with the Team Mahi’s Sabyasachi “Antidote” Bose in the past under OpTic India before joining BL4ZE Esports. With Riot Games potentially considering adding India to the list of eligible countries for the Valorant Champions Tour, Team Mahi’s lineup can prove to be a serious contender.
