Apex Legends Size: How Big Is the Download for EA’s Battle Royale

Apex Legends’ size has increased dramatically over the past few months. The game was under 25GB at launch but with the launch of two new maps and multiple Legends over the past two years, the download and installation sizes have gone up a lot. Apex Legends’ size is currently 63 GB on console and just under 30 GB on Nintendo Switch after installation. The game size will only get bigger over time as Respawn will be adding more maps and content over the years. Here is a look at Apex Legends’ download size, system requirements and other important information that you need to know about the game before installing it. 

Apex Legends Size: System Requirements and Download Size on PC

Apex Legends’ size on PC and console is 38GB even though EA states that the game requires only 22GB. After installation, the game takes up 63.19 GB in the latest patch. 

Minimum System requirements 

Here are the minimum system requirements to play the game at 768p at 30fps: 

• OS: 64-bit Windows 7
• CPU: Intel Core i3-6300 3.8GHz / AMD FX-4350 4.2 GHz Quad-Core Processor
• RAM: 6GB
• GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 640 / Radeon HD 7730
• GPU RAM: 1 GB
• HARD DRIVE: Minimum 22 GB of free space

Recommended System Requirements

Here are the recommended system requirements for playing the game at 1080p at 60fps.

• RAM: 8GB
• GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 / AMD Radeon R9 290

How to Install Apex Legends 

Before installing Apex Legends on any platform you will need to sign up for an EA account. Here is the official website to sign up for a new account: https://www.ea.com/games/create  

You will need to enter your desired username, password and other basic information to sign up. Once your account is ready make sure that you have enough storage space to accommodate Apex Legends’ size requirements. 

Steam (PC)

1. Open Steam and Search for “Apex Legends” 
2. Click on Play Game
3. Choose the installation directory on your computer. 
4. The game will now download and install on your PC. 
5. After installation, you will need to sign in to your EA account. 

Origin (PC)

1. Download Origin from the official website. 
2. Log in with your EA account, or create a new one.
3. Hover to the "Browse Games" tab on the left side of the app and select Apex Legends > Apex Legends.
4. Click Add to Library.
5. Click Download with Origin.

Console

1. Head to the PS Store / Xbox Store / Nintendo eShop 
2. Search for Apex Legends in the Search bar
3. Click on Install 
4. Launch the Game from the new icon on your Home screen. 
5. Sign into your EA account.
