The company has partnered with Verizon to host the upcoming Valorant Champions Tour Masters event and League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational. The Valorant Champions Tour Masters event is the next step towards the Valorant Champions event which will be held towards the end of this year. Dozens of teams have already qualified for the Masters event while the remaining Challengers #1 events are set to conclude later this month. All qualifying teams will head to the Masters event on May 24th and the event will conclude on May 30th. The League of Legends event will take place from May 6th to May 23rd.
Valorant Champions Tour Masters Event Overview
The Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) Masters Reykjavík event will kick off on May 24th. It will be the first official Valorant event to feature live international competition and will bring together the top 10 teams from around the world to fight for a spot at the Valorant Champions event which will take place later this year. The week-long event will conclude on May 30th with a finals showdown between the top teams.
The Valorant Champions Tour will continue beyond the Masters event and we will have the best teams from each region compete at the Valorant Champions main-stage event. There will also be more Challengers open qualifiers in April-May and July-August as well as another Masters event in September. All the top teams from the Masters event and the Last Chance qualifier will head to the main event in a bid to become the first-ever Valorant champions.
League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational Overview
The League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) was originally scheduled to be held last year but the global pandemic halted event temporarily. The top 12 teams from the regional leagues will face-off against each other between May 6th to May 23th in a bid to win the Invitational.
Riot Games will also host Worlds later this year at Shenzen, China. The company is yet to reveal all the event details for Worlds but we will get more information as we approach the event. Last year, Worlds was held in China with a limited audience due to the global restrictions but Riot seeks to go back to its grand multi-city championships soon.
