  • Port forwarding in Valorant can resolve most error codes if you are unable to play the game due to connection errors.
  • Forwarding ports is necessary if you have a highly restrictive firewall that unintentionally blocks your connection to the Riot Games servers.
  • It is recommended to check if Valorant servers are working before trying port forwarding due to connectivity issues.

Port Forwarding in Valorant might be necessary for many players who are unable to connect to their nearest servers or get error codes when trying to play the game. Riot Games has officially listed all the necessary ports needed for Valorant’s port forwarding, but it can be tricky to set up your firewall if you have never tried it before. A lot of Valorant’s connectivity problems arise due to players’ network settings, and you can easily solve them with a few easy steps. Here is a step-by-step guide for port forwarding in Valorant to potentially resolve any connectivity issues you may be facing.

Why Do You Need Port Forwarding in Valorant?

Port forwarding can solve most error codes.

Your internet provider assigns one IP address to your internet connection, and every computer connected to the internet needs one such IP address. “Ports” are used to help computers communicate with each other. In our case, it is Valorant’s servers and your computer that need to connect with each other. Some computers block certain ports, and by unlocking the ones specific to Riot Games/Valorant, you can resolve connectivity issues. Port forwarding in Valorant is safe as long as you only forward ports listed by Riot Games.

Which Ports Should You Forward

Here is a complete list of ports you need to use for port forwarding in Valorant:

  • 7000 - 7500 UDP (VALORANT Game Client)
  • 8393 - 8400 TCP (Patcher and Maestro)
  • 2099 TCP (PVP.Net)
  • 5223 TCP (PVP.Net)
  • 5222 TCP (PVP.Net)
  • 80 TCP (HTTP Connections)
  • 443 TCP (HTTPS Connections)
  • 8088 UDP y TCP (Spectator Mode)

Before changing your firewall settings, check the Riot Games Support Twitter account to ensure there are no server issues. If port forwarding does not resolve your issue, contact your ISP and seek assistance as routing issues at your ISP’s end can also cause Valorant to not connect to the game’s servers.
