World Series of Warzone North America saw Skullface, Hisoka, and Joshua "Mayappo" Mayappo become champions with Ethan “FifaKill” Pink securing first place at the solos event. But the event didn’t quite go as smoothly as the competitors wanted it to. There were tons of developer errors that caused participants to get booted and multiple players called out Raven Software for poor management of the event.
Team Aydan calls out Raven Software for the lack of a reconnect feature
Team Aydan, led by Aydan “Aydan” Conrad, was affected by dev errors in Warzone earlier today. The error has been present in Warzone ever since its release and it is very likely to crash your game if you face it. In some instances, you might get lucky and be sent back to the main menu while in other instances of the error, the game freezes and requires a system restart.
With $300,000 USD on the line, it is normal for players competing for such a massive prize pool to be upset when they run into the error code. In the final game of the night, Aydan’s team ran into the bug and was not able to drop in. Aydan was forced to exit the game and even after notifying the admins as soon as the match started, the admins did not restart the game.
He said on Twitch, “They said they’re not gonna reset it. I’m actually so depressed after that. Not even because of the money, I care about my teammates. I know that it means a lot to them so for me to not be in the last game helping, it hurts. I don’t even want to play in the solo game anymore, my whole vibe is chalked.”
OpTic Gaming’s Zack “ZLaner” Lane and FifaKill were also affected by the bug during the event. ZLaner requested Raven Software to add a reconnect feature to the game due to these issues. With Warzone 2.0 coming out with a brand new engine update, the community hopes that the issues that have been present in the game for years finally get addressed.
