Outbreak is a large-scale, open-world zombies mode that was introduced in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. It is a departure from the traditional round-based zombies mode that has been a staple of the Call of Duty series since World at War.
In Outbreak, players spawn in a region of the Ural Mountains and must complete objectives to progress through the map. Objectives can range from activating antennas to destroying zombie nests. Once an objective is completed, players can travel to a new region to continue the game.
