Valorant and other Riot Games titles are coming to Game Pass later this year but the publisher is yet to reveal a proper release date. All we know is that the game will arrive in “winter 2022” with all unlocked agents and other perks. This gives us a release window of November-December 2022. All players who have access to Game Pass will be able to download the game from the Microsoft Store or Xbox app and get access to the special perks.

Valorant Game Pass Release Date

Valorant is coming to Game Pass in “winter 2022” along with all other Riot Games PC titles including Legends of Runeterra, Teamfight Tactics, and of course, League of Legends. If you want to get Game Pass to get all the benefits that are being given, here’s what you need to do:

  1. Search “Xbox” in Windows 10 or 11 and launch the app

  2. If you don’t have the Xbox App installed, you can search for Microsoft Store instead and download the app from there

  3. Launch the Xbox app

  4. There will be an option to subscribe to Game Pass on the homepage

  5. Purchase a subscription. There are special offers for new subscribers and you can join the service for $1 for your first month.

  6. Search for Valorant in the Xbox app

  7. Click on Install

Players will need to link their Riot Games and Xbox accounts to access all of the agents for free. The process for linking both accounts has not yet been revealed. You will also get access to other bonuses in Riot Games’ other titles - League of Legends, Wild Rift, Teamfight Tactics, and Legends of Runeterra.

Riot Games’ Director of Communications Joe Hixon revealed in a tweet, “You’ll still be able to unlock Champions/Little Legends/Cards/Agents in the normal ways while playing with an account linked to Game Pass.” Any progress that you have earned from gameplay on your existing Riot Games account will be left intact.

If you stop your Xbox Game Pass subscription you will retain all account progression but you will lose access to the agents that were yet to be unlocked. During your playtime, if Game Pass is still active, you will still be able to unlock agents. Any agents that you manually unlock for permanent access will still be available.
