Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 5 saw the return of the original map of the game, that was featured back in Chapter 1 Season 5.
Considering its popularity Epic Games tweeted that this OG map would make its way into the game in 2024.

The return of the original map of Fortnite brought in a flood of players who wanted to experience the nostalgia again and explore iconic locations in the game. While it was known that the OG map would no longer be accessible after the Big Bang event, Epic Games also went onto the official Fortnite X account to mention that it might make a return sometime in the future. Although the map hasn't been live since 2nd December, many fans are expecting to see it soon, now that we’ve stepped into the new year. Without further ado, let’s go ahead and figure out when the OG map is coming back to Fortnite.

When Will the OG Map Come Back to Fortnite?

Fortnite OG was the highlight of Chapter 4 Season 5, showcasing several original weapons, items, and Islands from Chapter 1 Season 5 which brought back numerous veterans to experience the traditional setting once again.

The return of the OG map was so big to the point where the game saw over 44.7 million players who were ready to go on a trip down memory lane. Considering its popularity and fan-following, the devs tweeted from the official Fortnite X account stating that the OG season far exceeded their expectations and that they’d bring it back sometime in 2024.

While the exact release date for the OG map has not yet been unveiled, many fans speculated that it might return once a year to celebrate the battle royale’s anniversary. Although it has not been confirmed by any of the devs, this would mean that Fortnite OG would return in September 2024

Until the return of the OG mode, players will have access to numerous custom modes, official Fortnite game modes like Fortnite Festival, battle royale, Lego Fortnite, and Rocket Racing, along with the ability to play Fortnite experiences created by other players.

While most players are expecting the game to bring in newer themes and features, a large group of audience would also love to see the OG map as a permanent game mode or even as a rotational map, a feature found in Respawn’s Apex Legends. Although it might seem like this is a far-fetched dream now, it is entirely possible if it gains enough traction and becomes a highly requested mode in Fortnite.
