What Is the “Waffle House Has a New Host” Meme
A new meme is doing the rounds on TikTok, YouTube and other social media platforms. There are hundreds of comments in popular videos and shorts with the phrase “Waffle House has a new host”. Many comment memes have gone viral over the years, and this is just one of them. The comment makes no sense in videos and many social media users are struggling to find the context.
What does “Waffle House has a new host” mean?
Content creator Johnny RaZeR explained the trend and claimed that it was his idea. He revealed that his content revolves around doing silly things and he wanted people to flock to people’s YouTube videos and shorts using the “Waffle House Has a New Host” phrase in a comment. It was supposed to target YouTubers only but it has gotten out of hand and is now a part of TikTok and other social media platforms as well.
Johnny revealed that, “As for the meaning of the quote itself, honestly, I know just as much as you. I’m pretty sure it’s just a reference to cursed waffle houses, which has been a bit of a running gag on my channel.”
He explained that it has nothing to do with Waffle House and is just meant to be a gag. There was a similar phrase “It’s not a mistake it’s a masterpiece” which also went viral. Johnny had recently asked people to comment with the croissant emoji as part of “operation crumb blast” earlier this month and you may have seen the trend in YouTube videos.
Johnny jokes about the trend saying, “This is a phrase that is going to haunt me for the rest of my life. By explaining it to you, you’re now part of the bit and you are recruited to join the fight."
The trend is likely to die out in a few days and YouTubers are likely to have a filter for their channels to keep the Waffle House Has a New Host phrase from showing up any further.
