Call of Duty: DMZ Season 2 will wipe player progress and remove items from all inventories.
It is recommended to not farm any faction mission progress until Season 2 arrives as players will need to re-earn the XP.
The new DMZ season drops on 15th February for all platforms.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2’s second season is coming soon and with it, we will be getting an inventory wipe for the DMZ game mode. There are several balance changes that the game wants to implement and an inventory wipe will be necessary. A significant portion of your inventory will be removed but you will be able to re-earn them by progressing through the game mode. DMZ is the first Call of Duty game mode of its kind and players can expect similar wipes to take place until the developers are happy with the state of the game mode.

How will the Season 2 DMZ wipe work in Call of Duty: Warzone 2?

With a new Exclusion Zone coming in Season 02, players will have a third option to choose from when deploying in DMZ. The Faction Mission refresh will provide new missions that send you across these destinations, including Building 21.

All-new missions are coming to Season 02 including a refresh of your current Faction mission progress and an inventory (Contraband and Keys) reset. There will also be changes to the game to address crashes that cause players to lose all loot. More details about these changes will be available at a later date. However, there are leaks that revealed what items will be removed from player inventories when the update hits. Here are all the items that you will lose access to:

  • Insured Weapon Slots

  • Faction Tiers

  • Faction Mission Progress

  • Contraband

  • Keys

While keys are not that hard to farm, losing access to Faction Mission progress is going to hurt the most. There are players who have spent months grinding their standings with Factions and seeing all of it get reset to zero will upset some players.

DMZ launched with Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 as a Beta and some players had expected that such wipes will take place. But Activision had not indicated the possibility of such wipes which has left players upset over the announcement. Season 2 will drop on 15th February so you can safely stop progressing your faction mission and key farms until the patch goes live.
