Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 players are not enjoying The Haunting event for Halloween but not everyone is having a great time because of the jump scares that have been added to the game. There are jump scares in the Battle Pass in both Warzone and Modern Warfare 2.0 and you can disable them if you don’t want to get spooked. Read on to find out how you can disable jump scares during The Haunting event.
Note: If you want to disable the looting jump scares, unfortunately, there is no way to do so and the option is available for the Battle Pass only.
How to turn off jump scares in Warzone 2.0 and Modern Warfare 2’s Battle Pass
To turn off jumpscares in Call of Duty, you can follow these steps:
Boot up either MW2 or Warzone.
Got to the Battle Pass menu.
Press L2/LT to turn the Battle Pass jump scares off
Jump scares will now be disabled for the Battle Pass
Even if you are not easily frightened by the jump scares, the volume of the jump scares is surprisingly loud and it can be a hindrance during gameplay. If you play the game at high volume, you might hurt your ears so we strongly recommend taking precaution by doing the following:
Lower the game's volume if needed.
Wear headphones so that you can better hear what is happening around you.
Be aware of your surroundings and try to anticipate when jump scares might occur.
Call of Duty: The Haunting Event Overview
Available across Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, the Soul Capture Event is an enhanced and fear-inducing variation on the popular Trophy Hunt Event from Season 03. Available across all game modes, any time a Player is eliminated, they leave a Soul behind. Collect these Souls, which are automatically added to your total in all game modes (meaning there’s no need to visit a Buy Station in Call of Duty: Warzone or DMZ this time), and trade them for items shown in the Events Tab.
You can grab the following rewards during the event:
Gone Batty (Weapon Sticker)
Skullified (Calling Card)
Bit Corny (Charm
Creature Copter (Vehicle Skin)
Alien Death Ray (Weapon Blueprint)
Join Me (Loading Screen)
Bad Luck? (Charm)
Carved Up (Weapon Sticker)
Violent End (Weapon Blueprint)
XP Tokens
Tier Skips
And more coming throughout The Haunting
