How to Merge Your Console and PC Accounts Before Overwatch 2 Launches
Overwatch 2 will feature Cross-Progression between your Console and Battle.net accounts. This requires the data from both Console and Battle.net to be merged. You will soon be prompted to either confirm that your correct Console and Battle.net accounts are linked, or to link your accounts if they are not already. With Overwatch 2 set to release on 4th October, you should merge your accounts to ensure all of your cosmetics are on one account which shall allow you to access them either platform.
How to link PC and console accounts in Overwatch
If you want to link your console and PC accounts before Overwatch 2’s launch, here’s what you need to do:
Launch the game on your system
Press the confirmation button to progress through the welcome screen
You will be presented with an alpha-numeric code and a QR code
The alpha-numeric code can be entered at blizzard.com/link
The QR code may be scanned with a mobile app to take you to the linking website, which will be pre-populated with the code provided in-game
Log in with your Battle.net account credentials to finalize the connection between your console game and Battle.net accounts
You will receive a message in-game that notifies that your account is now successfully connected
OR
In Options, select the Link Accounts tab
Click Link Account (this opens a browser)
Log in with your Battle.net account
If you don't have a Battle.net account, click on Create a Free Battle.net Account
Accept the permissions to the Battle.net app and click Continue to complete the connection
A Battle.net account can be linked to one Xbox Live, one Playstation Network, and one Nintendo account. It is not possible to link the same console account to multiple Battle.net accounts. Accounts can be unlinked at any time.
Do note that your account level won’t carry over as Blizzard Entertainment is doing away with account levels in Overwatch 2 for now. Your account level on any platform will not carry over and all players will have the same border at least at launch, unless Blizzard wants to re-implement the feature again.
