Highlights
Players are reporting microphone issues in Warzone 2.0 and there are a few simple fixes to resolve the problems.
If you are on console, you should check your PlayStation and Xbox audio settings for microphone issues.
On PC, disabling and re-enabling voice chat can often fix the bug for most users.

Voice chat in Warzone 2.0 does not work as intended a lot of the time and you may need to tweak your sound settings to get your mic to work in-game. There is a bug that makes the game stop detecting your microphone and players have figured out some quick fixes to resolve the issue. If your mic is not working in Warzone 2.0, here are a couple of solutions that you should try.

Warzone 2.0 Mic Not Working: Possible Fixes

Before trying any of the solutions listed below, check if your microphone is working as intended in other games or applications. Here is how you can check if your mic is working on all platforms:

PC

  1. Right-click on the volume icon in your taskbar and select “Recording devices”.

  2. Now, right-click on an empty space and select, “Show disconnected devices” and “Show disabled devices”.

  3. Select “Microphone” click on “Properties” and make sure that the microphone is enabled.

  4. You may also check if the microphone that you are using is set as default.

PlayStation

  1. Press the PS button to access the control centre, and then select Mic.

  2.  Select one of the settings below to change input devices, mute and unmute your mic, and adjust your mic.

  3. Input Device: Set your audio input device by choosing from a list of devices with mics you can use.

  4. Adjust Microphone Level: Adjust the volume of your voice to make it louder or quieter for others to hear.

  5. Microphone Status When Logged In: When turned on, you can use voice input immediately after you log in. To use your mic only when necessary, configure this setting to Mute.

  6. Microphone Status: When Starting Voice Chat or Broadcast: To prevent unintentional hot-mic situations, you can choose to have your mic turn off automatically when you start a voice chat or a broadcast.

Xbox

Head to System > Settings > Account > Privacy & online safety > Xbox Live privacy. In this menu make sure that your mic is recognized by Xbox. Restart your console if you are facing issues.

Change in-game settings

If your microphone is working as intended in other apps but not in Warzone 2.0, head in-game and try out the following fixes:

  1. Launch Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 or Warzone 2.0

  2. Open the Options menu.

  3. Go to Account.

  4. Ensure that the Crossplay settings is set to Off, then turn it back On again.

  5. Ensure that the Crossplay communication settings is set to Off, then turn it back On again.

  6. Go to Audio.

  7. If the option is disabled, turn it on. If it is enabled, turn it off and on again.

  8. Put Open Mic Recording Threshold to a minimum.

  9. Set Voice Chat Volume and Microphone Volume to the desired amount.

  10. Save the changes and you should be good to go.

If this does not work, try restarting your system to see if it helps. If none of the solutions listed above help, consider reaching out to Activision’s support channels.
