Modern Warfare 3: How to Fix Packet Burst Error?

You can fix bracket burst, lag, or stuttering issues in Modern Warfare 3 by simply restarting the device you’re playing on. Restarting the device allows the game to reset and eliminate most of the server or network issues you might face.

However, if you still face the issue in your game, here’s a list of a few more methods you can attempt to get rid of the packet burst issue –

  1. Restart MW3 – Close and reboot the game to reset the servers. You will be able to join MW3 servers with a new connection, which should help fix packet burst errors.

  2. Reboot Router – Exit the game so you are outside of any servers. Go and restart your Wi-Fi router. Doing this can fix your network and any in-game issues you might face.

  3. Switch to Ethernet – Sometimes, playing on Wi-Fi can cause packet burst issues, so connect to an Ethernet cable to go online on your platform.

  4. Disable Crossplay – You can’t disable crossplay on PC, but it can be turned off on Xbox and PlayStation consoles. On PS4/5, go to MW3 settings and then ‘Account & Network,’ and turn off crossplay in the ‘Online’ tab. On Xbox One and Series X/S, go to settings – Account – Privacy & Online Safety’ – ‘Xbox Privacy’ - -Views Details and Customization – ‘Communication & Multiplayer’ and then you can turn off the ‘You can join cross-network play’ option.

  5. Switch off On-Demand Texture Streaming - You can only turn off this setting on consoles, and it can be done by heading to Settings and then Graphics.

After trying all these fixes, if you’re dealing with packet loss and lag issues, it’s possible that it’s a networking issue on the side of Activision.
