Minecraft Forge is a mod management tool for Minecraft that allows players to load mods and also perform modding functions. Do note that only mods that are compatible with Minecraft Forge can be installed using the app and incompatible mods will either break or not work in a lot of cases. Here is a quick guide to help you install Minecraft Forge for version 1.19 from the official repository.
Download and Install Minecraft Forge for 1.19 Update
You can always access the latest version of Minecraft Forge at: https://files.minecraftforge.net/net/minecraftforge/forge/
Do NOT download the modding tool from third-party websites as they can contain malicious tools that may harm your PC. The latest version of Minecraft Forge is version 44.1.5 which made the tool better at identifying invalid mods and applied a hotfix for some underlying issues.
Search %AppData% in your Windows Start Menu and navigate to: /Roaming/.minecraft/bin
Open minecraft.jar in Winrar (Download WinRAR at: https://www.win-rar.com/start.html?&L=0)
Delete META-INF folder in minecraft.jar
Extract all files from the downloaded forge rar file into minecraft.jar
Open Minecraft normally
A box is popped out on the left bottom corner of game screen.
After initialization, you should see Minecraft Forge, Forge Mod Loader and Minecraft Coder Pack installed in your Minecraft.
How to install mods via Minecraft Forge
Head to Curse forge to download mods: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods
Curseforge is the largest repository for mods with over 122,000 mods being hosted on the website. You can sort mods based on the category and there are also special mods for Twitch integration in case you want to stream the game with added features.
Once you download mods that you want to use, head to the Minecraft launcher and head to the Installations tab at the top
Hover over the Forge menu and click on the Open Folder icon
Open the mods folder from the menu and add any mod files (.jar) to the folder
Some mods are known as “Dependency” mods and require other mods to work. Make sure that you read the mod descriptions before installing any mods. You can also remove mods that you do not want to use anymore via the same menu by deleting the .jar files via Minecraft Forge.
