How to Check if Battle.net Servers Are Down

If you are unable to connect to games like Overwatch 2, World of Warcraft, Hearthstone and other Blizzard titles, you should check if the Battle.net servers are down. Here is a quick guide to help you check if Battle.net servers are down or resolve potential networking issues.

How to check Battle.net server status

You can check the status of Battle.net as well as Blizzard games by heading to the official  BlizzardCS Twitter handle. You can also check Down Detector to view any user reports of server outages.

The Twitter account typically informs players of any server outages and maintenance, and you also get updates as soon as server issues are resolved. You should always check the Twitter handle before trying to resolve any network issues.

Battle.net connection troubleshooting 

If Battle.net servers are online and you are still unable to connect to the platform, here are a few solutions that you can try.

  1. Restart your router, modem, PC/console/mobile to see if it resolves the issue. 

  2. Update your drivers and operating system to resolve compatibility issues.

  3. Close any applications that may be interfering with Battle.net.

  4. If you are connected via a wireless connection, switch to a wired connection to see if it helps.

If you are unable to connect to the Battle.net client on PC, you can try the following: 

  1. While on the desktop, press Windows Key and type CMD.

  2. Right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.

  3. Type ipconfig /release in the command prompt and press the Enter/Return key on your keyboard.

  4. Wait a few seconds for a reply that the IP address has been released.

  5. Type ipconfig /renew in the command prompt and press the Enter/Return key on your keyboard.

  6. Wait a few seconds for a reply that the IP address has been re-established.

  7. Type ipconfig /flushdns in the command prompt and press the Enter/Return key on your keyboard.

  8. Close the command prompt and attempt to make a connection.

If you are a console user, you can try resetting your network settings to see if it works. If you are still unable to connect to Battle.net services, reach out to Blizzard’s support channels.
