Can You Change FOV in Valorant?

Valorant does not offer an option to change your field of view (FOV) in-game and it restricts you to 103 FOV.
It is still possible to change your FOV by changing your aspect ratio from 16:9 to 4:3.
Changing your aspect ratio is not recommended as Riot Games does not officially support it for Valorant.

Riot Games does not allow players to change their FOV (Field of View) and the developers have made it clear that there will be no toggleable FOV settings in the future either. The only way to change your FOV is by changing your aspect ratio through your display settings. You can reduce your FOV from 103 to 71 through this process but the game is not optimized for the 4:3 aspect ratio. But it works well and there are no performance issues even if you choose to play on 4:3 and the experience is similar to CS:GO’s stretched resolution settings.

How to change your FOV in Valorant

Here’s how you can change your FOV in Valorant, by tweaking your aspect ratio through your display settings.

  1. Click Start

  2. On the Start menu, click Run.

  3. In the Open box, type "dxdiag" (without the quotation marks), and then click OK.

  4. The DirectX Diagnostic Tool opens. Click the Display tab.

  5. On the Display tab, information about your graphics card is shown in the Device section.

The menu will show you which graphics card you have. If you have an NVIDIA GPU, you will be able to change Valorant’s FOV settings. The following settings will apply to all your apps, so you will need to revert the settings once you are done playing if you want to revert to 16:9

  1. Right-click on your Desktop

  2. Click on Nvidia Control Panel

  3. Navigate to the Display Section

  4. Click on “Adjust Desktop Size and Position”

  5. Select Aspect Ratio and choose 4:3

  6. When you boot into Valorant, you should now have black bars and a lower FOV.

Instead, if you want to play with a stretched resolution, choose the Scaling option instead of Aspect Ratio. If you head to the in-game settings, you will not notice any FOV slider. Riot Games developer Classick revealed that the game uses a 103 FOV and the developers do not recommend playing stretched at 4:3.

A lot of CS:GO players play on 4:3 and if you apply the same settings for Valorant, your FOV will change to 71. It is the only way to get a custom FOV at the moment which might work well for you.
