All Call of Duty Warzone Season 2 In-Game Events Explained

The following events are lined up throughout Call of Duty Warzone Season 2:

  • Horde Hunt

  • Year of the Dragon (In-Season)

  • Cryptid Bootcamp (In-Season)

  • The Walking Dead: Fear the Living (In-Season)

  • Vortex: Decay’s Realm (In-Season)

  • Dune: Rule of Fate (In-Season)

Each event adds a new spectacle to the game, bringing in more action and excitement for the new season! Let us take a look at each event in brief.

Horde Hunt

This is a weekly event in Warzone Season 2, which sets the scene for zombie hunting in the game. The Eradication Contracts for the event are sprawled all over the game's maps.

Players have to engage in defeating the zombie boss and his minions. Those who are able to do so in the proposed time will successfully complete the Eradication Contracts. This will open them up to new rewards and some event-exclusive Horde Hunt currency.

Year of the Dragon

While this event lasted till 14th February 2024, it was also one of the main attractions for the current update. The Year of the Dragon event aligned with this year's theme of the Chinese New Year. Players got a chance to complete ten milestones, leading to limited-edition costume rewards.

The final reward in this event was the 'Dragon Scales' Universal CAMO.

Cryptid Bootcamp

The Cryptid Bootcamp challenge can only be completed in the Multiplayer and Zombie game modes in the game. Players will have to complete certain challenges in both Multiplayer and Zombie modes to be eligible for the final reward.

After successfully completing this limited-edition event, players will be able to get their hands on the “Cryptid” Sidewinder Blueprint.

The Walking Dead: Fear the Living

This highly anticipated event features the popular show The Walking Dead. This collaboration will feature Operators of TV Show characters Rick Grimes and Michonne.

The show itself is an exclusively zombie-themed survival show. Therefore, players are looking forward to enjoying some interesting content based on zombies. This event does not arrive till 28th February 2024.

Vortex: Decay’s Realm

While not much is known about the event yet, the patch notes explain it in the following sentence:

"The Vortex is back and seeping with Decay's blighted touch."

The event is likely to feature Team Deathmatch, Domination, Kill Confirmed, and Hardpoint on rotation.

Dune: Rule of Fate: Call of Duty Warzone Season 2

Just like Vortex: Decay’s Realm, information surrounding Dune: Rule of Fate has not fully been disclosed yet. The patch notes give us a hint, though, with the following sentence:

"Take control of the throne of fate."

But there's no need to worry. Both Vortex and Dune are mid season events and will unfold relatively later than other events. Keep an eye out for any potential updates.
