Garena is just a few days away from kicking off the highly anticipated Free Fire World Series (FFWS) 2021 Singapore, featuring some of the best teams from across the globe. The grand event is scheduled to take place over the course of this coming weekend from 28-30 May, offline in Singapore. Originally, 22 teams from 14 different regions were supposed to take part in this $2,000,000 USD competition. Unfortunately some teams from India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan were not able to participate in this event, due to travel restrictions. This forced Garena to reduce the number of competing teams down to 18, but the schedule remained unchanged.

Free Fire World Series 2021 Singapore

Free Fire World Series 2021 Singapore is the first international offline tournament being conducted by Garena this year. The organizers have planned a lot of in-game activities around this event like the FFWS Live Viewership Milestone Event which awards players for simply watching the tournament, Exchange Store Phase 2, Andrew’s Challenge, Login Rewards, and more.

FFWS 2021 Singapore - Teams

Initially, 22 teams from 14 regions were set to compete in the tournament, but due to travel restrictions being imposed against India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, a total of 4 teams had to be dropped from the competition. However, Garena stated that all the teams affected due to the travel restriction will be given a portion of the total prize pool. Which resulted in the 2 Indian teams Galaxy Racer and Team Elite walking away with $60,000 and $40,000 respectively, followed by Team TG from Pakistan and Riot from Bangladesh also receiving $40,000 each. 

Now, the remaining 18 teams will be competing in the tournament, half of these will be participating in the ‘Play-In’ stage while the other half will directly make their way to the ‘Finals’. Here is complete information about all these teams,

FFWS 2021 Singapore - Format

The format of Free Fire World Series 2021 Singapore as discussed above is pretty straight forward. First, 8 teams will go up against each other in the ‘Play-In’ stage, the top 3 teams will qualify ahead to the ‘Finals’ stage of the tournament. Here, the 8 directly invited teams along with the 3 qualifying teams will compete together. The best performing team walking away as the champion.

The scoring method being adopted for the tournament is nothing out of the ordinary. Each kill will be equivalent to one point, apart from this when it comes to placement points the maximum points that a team can receive is 12 for coming first. The tournament is featuring a total prize pool of 2 Million USD, which will be divided between all participating teams. This means that no team will be walking away empty handed from this event, even the 4 teams that cannot make it to Singapore have been handed their share of the prize money. FFWS 2021 Singapore - Schedule

The Free Fire World Series 2021 Singapore is going to be just a 2 day affair, with the ‘Play-In’ stage taking place on 28 May, followed by ‘Finals’ stage being played on  30 May. The teams will have a one day break in-between the 2 stages.

Within the ‘Play-In’ stage a total of 6 rounds will be played on May 28 itself. The schedule for this is as follows,
