Team Spirit released its latest video series on Youtube, starring its carry player Illya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk.
The Ukrainian carry talked about his personal life, as well as his thoughts when the Ukraine-Russia conflict broke out.
He also noted that the team’s performance until before the PGL Arlington Major was mainly a failure, due to many reasons.

Team Spirit will be looking to defend its title at Singapore this year as the team will be going to The International 2022 (TI11) as a heavy contender for the title. However, before the team’s trip to its bootcamp in Malaysia, the team recorded a series of videos regarding the players on Youtube at a vineyard in Belgrade, Serbia.

The first video of the series featured Illya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk, where the host asked the Ukrainian carry about his personal life, the team’s relocation to Serbia and more.

Yatoro revealed that TORONTOTOKYO is a bad roommate for him

The video started with Illya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk talking about his vacation after the PGL Arlington Major, which he and his team won. He revealed that he stayed in Serbia during the team’s short holiday mainly to recuperate.

“No, I decided to stay in Serbia because I got tired of flying and realized that I wanna relax without this fuss. Flying to America was frustrating because of the duration, and I know that the flight to Singapore will take 17 hours, so I don’t wanna fly now”.

After talking about his first encounter with his current girlfriend, the host asked Yatoro about the team’s relocation to Serbia when the Ukraine-Russia conflict first started.

“We were getting ready for a tournament in Dubai, we were to take a covid test in 3 days. I was living with Magomed (Collpase) at the bootcamp at the time, DKLana (Team Spirit’s manager) woke me up and told us to go take the test. I asked why so early, and she asked if I had checked the news, I was confused. She said the war had broken out.” said Yatoro.

He replied by saying that after doing the COVID-19 test, he immediately texted his family after being worried about their safety. He also revealed that he felt devastated when the news broke out about the conflict.

“All of my relatives live in Bucha, near the Kyiv region. I immediately texted and called them, including my mother and brother. Mom said everything was fine, planes were no big deal, and my brother said everything was fucked up, and the house was shaking. It felt like everything was falling apart, I was devastated, every day, I was just sitting outside smoking and thinking about how this happened and stuff. I just wanted to leave ASAP and not come back to Russia. To be honest, I don't remember that tournament at all, it fell out of my memory. I remember fragments, but not the whole picture.”

After talking about the invasion, the host proceeded to ask Yatoro about his teammates by asking about the apartment that he rented with Miroslaw "Mira" Kolpakov after The International 2021 (TI10).

“After TI, I visited my relatives in Bucha and realized I wanted to live alone. Mira also wanted to live alone, so that's how we started. I ended up moving away because we didn't want to live together anymore. That experiment was unsuccessful, so we decided to move apart.” said Yatoro.

He also revealed that he had a hard time getting along with Alexander "TORONTOTOKYO" Khertek, because of his personality. However, he jokingly noted that he would not want to live with him.

“He's the kind of person who doesn't perceive personal boundaries, he will not like Korea. I'm used to it, so I even like it sometimes. In general, I wouldn’t live with him. I remember that we lived with him at a bootcamp once. He offered to sleep in the same bed. I thought it was a very tempting offer because he’s a very sexy guy. I refused of course.”

Finally the host asked about Team Spirit’s performance during the season as the team did not perform well until the Arlington Major. Yatoro responded by saying that there were multiple factors that contributed to the team's performances during the season.

“There were a lot of factors, firstly, a change of location, a new country, it was necessary to settle down. Secondly, some players were lazy, there was no engagement. I felt it, and it drove me crazy. Sometimes I got stuck on it and couldn't play properly, and because of that, we sometimes had problems with communication. And because of this, a very big failure happened at the Major in Sweden.” said Yatoro.

As of now, Team Spirit have safely arrived in Malaysia for its boot camp before the TI11 Group Stages which will begin on October 15th
