Even though the Last Chance Qualifiers for The International 11 (TI11) just concluded, and the main tournament is still ongoing, Virtus.Pro has parted ways with its carry player Roman “RAMZES666” Kushnarev. The organization released a statement announcing that it had mutually decided to cease cooperation with RAMZES666.
RAMZES666’s departure from Virtus.Pro marks the end of a rather tumultuous phase for the organization. The team had believed that it had qualified for The International 2022 by securing enough DPC points, only for Valve to clarify that it barely missed out on qualifying for the tournament. The organization would go on to come close but just miss out on qualifying for TI11 in both the Eastern European Qualifiers and the Last Chance Qualifiers.
Roman “RAMZES666” Kushnarev leaves Virtus.pro
Virtus.Pro stated that its contract with RAMZES666 was only valid until the conclusion of TI11. But based on the results of the Last Chance Qualifier Stage it came to a decision to end the contract.
“Roman came back during a tough time for our club, when we really needed a carry with experience. Together we managed to achieve success, with victory in the third DPC tour being a good example. But the global goal, the one which the players set for themselves, has not been achieved. Sometimes a group of highly skilled players does not add up to a strong team. Therefore, we made a joint decision to end our cooperation, fully confident that both parties will benefit from it.”- Virtus.Pro in its press release
In a release, RAMZES666 shared that it felt good to play under a familiar team but that it was time to move on to a different organization. He also wished the organization good luck with its future endeavors.
Earlier this week, Virtus.Pro’s Hard Support Egor "Xakoda" Lipartiya had stated that the team would definitely not keep the same roster intact. The current Virtus.Pro roster following RAMZES666’s departure is:
Danil "gpk" Skutin
Dmitry "DM" Dorokhin
Daniyal "yamich" Lazebnyy
Egor "Xakoda" Lipartiya
RAMZES666 was initially added to Virtus.Pro setup in May 2022, after its previous carry Ivan "Pure" Moskalenko was removed from the organization for drawing pro-war symbols on an official Dota 2 Pro Circuit game.
