Highlights
The first day of the TI11 Last Chance Qualifiers have concluded after intensive and fierce games amongst the 12 teams.
As both groups played a few series, it was NAVI’s series against Polaris Esports in Group A and T1’s series against Team Liquid that stood out in Day 1.
The second day will feature a total of 14 Bo2 which will determine the seeding for the Playoffs stage of the LCQ.

The International 2022(TI11)’s Last Chance Qualifiers kicked off with a day of great action from some of the best teams in the world, displaying the excitement and competitive nature of the Dota 2 esports. All teams from both groups played in Day One, but it was NAVI’s series against Polaris Esports in Group A and T1’s series against Team Liquid that stood out in Day 1.

While the T1 vs Team Liquid series had some interesting highlights, other matches were just as entertaining for the sheer display of skills from all teams. One example would be Wildcard Gaming, who managed to tie its series against heavy favorites Virtus.pro on Day One.

Recap of Day 1 of the TI11 LCQ

Group A

Group A started off with Team Secret dominating South American team Tempest with a 2-0 stomp, before drawing against Vici Gaming and nouns to end Day One with a win and two draws.

At the same time, NAVI faced off against nouns which ended up being another 2-0 stomp as NAVI secured the victory. Despite both teams looking even in terms of regional performance during the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC), NAVI’s Silencer-Pangolier combo was too much for nouns to handle. NAVI then went on to finish Day One on a high as it went on to defeat Tempest 2-0 before drawing against Southeast Asian (SEA) team Polaris Esports. While NAVI had a great Game One, Polaris’s Terrorblade-Void Spirit duo turned the tide against NAVI as it defeated them after 42 minutes in Game Two.

Here are the standings of Group A at the end of day 1 of the TI11 LCQ:

Group B

Being nicknamed “the group of death” by the community, Group B provided a lot of entertaining matches for the viewers as they got to the T1’s newest roster debut.

However, T1 would have a day to forget after a surprising loss against Team Liquid who were inconsistent during the DPC. Despite a great Primal Beast performance from Topias "Topson" Taavitsainen in Game One, Team Liquid took advantage of T1’s mistakes to achieve victory in Game One before dominating them in Game Two. T1 also ended up drawing against Infamous later in the day to finish in the bottom two of Group B.

Virtus.pro meanwhile, had a great day as it tied with Team Liquid and Xtreme Gaming at the top of the group standings. Despite having defeated Infamous 2-0 in its opening match, Virtus.pro would have to settle with two draws against Wildcard Gaming and Xtreme Gaming.

Here are the standings of Group B at the end of day 1 of the TI11 LCQ:

Considering the stakes on the line, the second day of the TI11 Last Chance Qualifiers is going to be even more exciting as it will feature a total of fourteen Bo2 series with some spicy matches such as Team Liquid versus Virtus.pro, T1 versus Xtreme Gaming and Secret vs NaVi. The results of Day Two of the TI11 LCQ will determine the seedings for the Playoffs stage of the LCQ.
