Team Spirit clinched their second title at The International Dota 2 Championships (TI12). The achievement echoes their victory from The International 2021 (TI10), placing them shoulder-to-shoulder with the iconic OG as one of the only teams to have secured two TI championships.
The Grand Finals wasn't a close affair. In a display of unmatched prowess and strategic brilliance, Team Spirit dominated the Grand Finals with a 3-0 victory over the formidable Gaimin Gladiators. The games were a testament to Team Spirit's exceptional coordination, adaptability, and drafts.
Team Spirit wins TI12 in Dominant Fashion
Illya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk, Magomed "Collapse" Khalilov, Myroslav "Mira" Kolpakov, and Yaroslav "Miposhka" Naidenov celebrated their second TI championship, having been part of the triumphant roster in TI10. Denis "Larl" Sigitov, the latest addition to the team, showcased his prodigious talent throughout the tournament, proving to be an invaluable asset in their journey to the top.
Team Spirit's journey to the Grand Finals was nothing short of remarkable. They demonstrated their mettle by absolutely outplaying every other team in the tournament. The team only lost two games through the entirety of the tournament, marking this as arguably the most dominant championship run in the history of The International Dota 2 championships.
The team was undefeated in the Group Stages and kicked off its run in the playoffs with a 2-1 victory over Virtus Pro. Spirit followed it up with a 2-1 triumph over Team Liquid and a 2-0 victory over LGD Gaming to secure its berth in the Grand Finals where it would go on to win $1.4 Million in prize winnings.
While this pales in comparison to the $18.2 Million it won in TI11, the team's legacy is now secured as one of only two organizations to win The International Dota 2 championships twice.
