Team Secret has announced its latest roster, which includes two new players: Armel "Armel" Tabios and Daniyal "yamich" Lazebnyy. Filipino star Armel will make his debut for Team Secret in the midlane, replacing Miroslav "BOOM" Bičan, who will move to the offlane. Former Virtus.Pro player Daniyal "yamich" Lazebnyy will play in the position 4 role.
These additions come in the wake of the departures of the team's former offlaner Roman "Resolut1on" Fomynok and position 4 support Baqyt "Zayac" Emiljanov, following an underwhelming tour for Team Secret in the Dota 2 Pro Circuit (DPC) 2023.
Team Secret's New Roster Features Armel and Yamich
Armel previously played in the Southeast Asia region with the recently disbanded Fnatic lineup. Yamich played with Eastern European team Virtus Pro before this switch-up.
Speaking about this roster, Team Secret captain Clement “Puppey” Ivanov stated: "Yamich is a young Dota player who has not yet achieved his success and I hope to make it a reality. I have great confidence that he has the capabilities of being a star player. Armel has been a dominant mid laner his whole career. He will bring a strong x-factor to the team since he comes from a different region. I believe he is hungry for success and will achieve it with us. I believe with Yamich and Armel by our side, we've got the right tools to get back into the shape our fans want to see us. Thank you for your continuous support through the ups and downs. “
Team Secret’s new roster is:
Remco "Crystallis" Arets
Armel "Armel" Tabios
Miroslav "BOOM" Bičan
Daniyal "yamich" Lazebnyy
Clement "Puppey" Ivanov
The team will continue to be coached by South Korean star Lee "Heen" Gon.
Team Secret's new lineup comes as a surprise to many fans, especially after the team's recent struggles. Team Secret was once considered to be one of the strongest teams in Dota 2, having just secured a runner-up finish at The International 2022 (TI11) and consistently ranking amongst the top tier of teams. However, the team's recent performance has been lackluster, leading to a disappointing last-place finish in the DPC Western Europe 2023 Tour 1: Division I
With the addition of Armel and Yamich, fans are hopeful that the team can return to its former glory. Armel is known for his aggressive playstyle and exceptional mechanical skills, making him a valuable addition to the team's midlane. Meanwhile, Yamich brings in young reflexes and exceptional mechanical skill playing in the position 4 role.
Team Secret's next challenge will be in the Dota 2 Pro Circuit Tour 2: Division II, where they will be looking to bounce back from their relegation in Tour 1.
Note: A previous edition of the article incorrectly stated Yawi instead of Yamich. It has since been fixed.
