Highlights
The International 12 (TI12) is just a few months away, and half of the 12 direct invite teams have been confirmed.
Talon Esports is the 6th team to be directly qualified for TI12 through DPC points despite not competing at the Bali Major 2023.
The reason behind the team qualifying is due to teams such as Execration and nouns being eliminated from the Major, solidifying the team’s qualification.

With The International 12 (TI12) drawing closer, the list of directly invited teams is starting to take shape. Talon Esports, one of the strongest teams from the Southeast Asia (SEA) region, has officially secured their spot as the sixth team to qualify directly for TI12 through their impressive performance in the Dota Pro Circuit 2023 season. Despite not competing at the Bali Major 2023, Talon Esports' accumulation of 1120 DPC points solidifies their qualification, making them the first SEA team to secure a direct invite to the largest Dota 2 tournament of the year.

Talon qualify after Execration and nouns eliminated from Bali Major

TI12 is a few months away, and half of the 12 direct invite slots have now been filled. Talon Esports joins the exclusive list of teams who have successfully earned their place at the prestigious tournament. The team’s qualification through DPC points is a testament to their consistent performance throughout the DPC season.

The team failed to secure a top-three placement in the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) Southeast Asia (SEA) Tour 3: Division I, falling short against other SEA powerhouses such as Blacklist International, Execration, and Bleed Esports and losing out on a Bali Major 2023 slot.

The team’s direct qualification to TI12 comes after a few teams have been eliminated at the group stages of the major, eliminating their chances of overtaking Talon Esports in the rankings.

The Road to TI12 for Talon Esports

Talon Esports will likely be only one of two teams representing the SEA region in TI12, unless Bleed Esports manages to have a great run through the Lower Brackets of the Bali Major 2023.

Currently, the latter finds itself locked in a tiebreaker against Azure Ray at the Bali Major 2023, battling to extend its tournament lives and secure the necessary points for direct qualification.

Talon Esports has emerged as the sixth team to directly qualify for TI12 through the DPC points the team earned through the 2023 DPC season. The team’s success highlights the importance of consistent performance throughout the entire DPC season, even though they did not qualify for the last major of the season.  As Talon Esports prepares to compete among the world's best teams, all eyes will be on the rest of the SEA teams at the Bali Major 2023 to potentially grab another slot at TI12.
