Talon Esports defeated European giants Entity in a quick 2-0 victory to secure a place in the Lower Bracket semifinals and will now move on to face Shopify Rebellion in its next series. Talon Esports was clinical in both matches, demonstrating calm composed play and completely picking apart Entity across both games.

Consequently, Entity has been eliminated from the tournament, having earned $25,000 USD in prize money and 200 Dota 2 Pro Circuit (DPC) points. Team Liquid and Gaimin Gladiators are the only two remaining European teams competing in the tournament. The two sides will now face each other in a much anticipated Winner Bracket Finals, despite unfortunate circumstances befalling Team Liquid’s Samuel "Boxi" Svahn.

Talon defeats Entity in a quick stomp at the Lima Major 2023

Going into the match, both teams were evenly favored thanks to their stellar performances in the previous rounds of the Lima Major 2023 lower bracket.

Talon Esports opened the series by securing an easy win thanks to an incredible carry performance from Nuengnara "23savage" Teeramahanon on his signature Terrorblade. The Thai carry handily won his lane and dipped into the jungle to further accelerate his farm while the rest of the team made space for him. When he started taking part in fights, Entity simply could not deal with the overwhelming amount of damage that the Terrorblade was outputting with a Daedalus and a Skadi in his inventory. The Europeans eventually called ‘GG’ just 35 minutes into Game 1.

Game 2 had a similar story with Talon’s Rafli "Mikoto" Rahman Zeus feasting on Dzmitry "Fishman" Palishchuk’s Undying, allowing him to snowball his team into the mid-game. Once again, Entity could not deal with Talon’s overwhelming damage output and conceded the series in around 34 minutes.

Following the victory, Talon Esports’ captain Anucha "Jabz" Jirawong stated that the team has built on the momentum from the Southeast Asian DPC tiebreakers and has learned a lot from the teams they lost to including Fnatic and Team Liquid. “We feel pretty confident like in the tiebreaker in the SEA DPC, we just do what we prepare,” he added.

Talon Esports will now be taking on Shopify Rebellion for a Top 3 spot in the Lima Major 2023 later in the day.
