Dreamleague Season 20 playoffs have begun and the first two matches have eliminated one team, while the other deciding the first grand finalist.
Southeast Asia’s (SEA) representation at the tournament is gone with Talon Esports’ defeat to Gaimin Gladiators in the lower bracket round one.
BetBoom has a dominant victory over PSG.LGD and make it to the grand finals and also secure a direct invite to Riyadh Masters 2023.

In a disappointing turn of events, Talon Esports suffered a defeat in the Lower Bracket Semifinals of Dreamleague Season 20. Despite this setback, the team managed to secure an impressive Top 4 finish, showcasing their competitive prowess. However, the loss marked a significant moment for the Southeast Asian (SEA) Dota 2 teams as it signaled the elimination of all representatives from the region in the tournament.

Now, all eyes turn to BetBoom Esports, an Eastern European (EEU) team that originally entered as a substitute for Execration. BetBoom's remarkable performance in the tournament not only propelled them to the grand finals but also solidified their position as a formidable contender for the championship title. In addition to their success in Dreamleague Season 20, the team's impressive showing has earned them a coveted spot in the Riyadh Masters 2023

SEA's Tournament Journey Comes to an End

In the lower bracket round 1, Talon Esports was up against Gaimin Gladiators, considered to be the best in Western Europe (WEU). The team had a close 2-1 series, however, the SEA titans were ultimately defeated.

While Talon Esports’ run ends at Dreamleague Season 20, the team will have to work on preparing for the upcoming Riyadh Masters 2023 and The International 12, as they failed to qualify for the Bali Major 2023 through the DPC (Dota Pro Circuit).

BetBoom Esports: A Rising Eastern European Force

In the DreamLeague Season 20, BetBoom Esports defied expectations and surprised fans with a superior level of gameplay. The team faced a formidable challenge in the upper bracket against PSG.LGD, one of the tournament favorites and the previous Riyadh Masters 2022 winners.

However, BetBoom proved to be too strong of an opponent, securing a dominant 2-0 victory over the best team from China. This exceptional triumph not only propelled them to the grand finals but also earned them a direct invitation to the Riyadh Masters 2023, the tournament with a gigantic $15,000,000 USD prize pool.

While SEA teams faced disappointment and bid farewell to Dreamleague Season 20, BetBoom Esports, the substitute team, emerged as a rising force in the tournament. Its outstanding performances, including a remarkable victory against PSG.LGD has elevated the team’s status and positioned it as a strong contender for the championship title. As the grand finals approach, all eyes will be on BetBoom as the team aims to win its first tournament.
