Boom Esports vs RSG: Match Recap and Highlights

Recap

In Game 1, RSG picked Juggernaut for mks and a mid Pangolier for xsilearn while Boom Esports went with a greedy lineup core of Faceless Void for JaCkky, Queen of Pain for Yopaj and Viper for Fbz. The draft went in the favor of Boom Esports in the early phase of the game as they managed to pick off key heroes of RSG time after time, gaining a net worth advantage of 8K at the 33th minute mark. However, Boom Esports lost a teamfight near the Roshan pit due to mispositioning of their heroes, allowing RSG to have a chance of coming back into the game. X1aOyUs Doom and xiaobonbon’s Windrunner kill potential and stun abilities onto Boom Esports heroes allowed them to lock Boom Esports in place as mks deals the majority of RSG’s damage. RSG won the first game in a surprising comeback at 42 minutes after an unsuccessful base defense by Boom Esports.

In Game 2, Boom Esports wanted to increase the tempo as they drafted Alchemist, Batrider and Death Prophet as its core lineup. RSG’s draft of Spectre and Ember Spirit did not work out for them as JaCkky’s Alchemist was constantly outfarming RSG’s heroes while Fbz’s Death Prophet was able to survive most of the teamfights, tanking most of the damage coming from RSG while applying pushing potential with his Exorcism ultimate. Boom Esports won the second game at 44 mins with a massive net worth advantage of 45K at the end of the game, with JaCkky contributing to almost 50% of the advantage.

In Game 3, mks’s Pudge did not work out as the damage from JaCkky’s Phantom Lancer Diffusal Blade build and Fbz’s Dawnbreaker was too much for RSG as their draft cannot sustain the draft potential of Boom Esports. Furthermore, the lockdown abilities on Boom Esports managed to keep xsilearn’s Puck in place during teamfights, allowing JaCkky to clean after the team. Saieful "Fbz" Ilham’s Dawnbreaker was the standout player of the match as Boom Esports defeated RSG in 30 minutes.

RSG will be disappointed as the team would not proceed to the Grand Finals of the tournament, yet it could be proud of its performances having secured a Top 4 finish above teams such as SMG, Talon Esports and Fnatic.

Boom Esports will be facing the winner of Execration versus Polaris Esports in the Grand Finals of the GAMERS GALAXY: Invitational Series HatYai Thailand 2022 later today.
