Team Secret’s captain Clement "Puppey" Ivanov recently talked about his excitement of facing former teammate Kuro "KuroKy" Takhasomi and Nigma Galaxy during a post-match interview. After having lost five consecutive matches during Division I of the Western Europe Dota Pro Circuit 2023 (WEU DPC), Team Secret were finally able to breathe a sigh of relief after managing to grab its first victory of the season against Into The Breach.
While he mainly talked about the team’s recent decline of form, he also went into detail about the team’s upcoming match against Nigma Galaxy as a second win against the latter would put the team in a favorable position to avoid relegation into Division II.
“We will sell tickets and fight them in the arena” - Puppey talks about upcoming match against KuroKy’s Nigma Galaxy
During the post match interview, Team Secret’s captain Puppey started off by talking about the team’s atmosphere after the win after having a horrendous start to the season. “Well, we started to realize that we were getting relegated [if things continue as the way it is] and then I started to understand, like you said, I’m going to be playing Kuro soon and there needs to be a hype matchup and stuff. This relegation match, I have not been a part of yet so it’s kind of interesting.” he said.
He also went on to talk about the team’s upcoming match against Nigma Galaxy by jokingly saying that he will be treating the matchup as a gladiator matchup in an arena. “So we’re going to be selling tickets to an arena somewhere. I’m doing it for the money, we’re gonna have an arena set up. This is all planned by the way, not because we’re losing or whatever, this is scripted.” he added.
However, he also gave a serious answer when asked about the team’s preparations against Nigma Galaxy.
“There is no real answer to these questions you know, like you don’t prepare for a team differently in a way where it’s a different team in particular. You just prepare against every team differently, that’s just how it works. Whether it’s Nigma or Tundra, it’s always going to be a different preparation. They're [Nigma Galaxy] in a mess just like we are, I'll tell you one thing. There's much more things going wrong for them than right. So, similar to us in a way.”
Despite finally having its first win of the season, Team Secret must win its final series against Nigma Galaxy on 27th January if the team wants to force the possibility of a two-way or even a three-way tiebreaker to avoid relegation to Division II.
