Prize Pool: $500K USD

“Dota 2 has a lot of fans in the US, and Arlington has a perfect location for tournaments of this caliber: Esports Stadium,” said Silviu Stroie, CEO of PGL in a release. “We are fortunate to be back in North America with another Major after Boston. We love to run events in the USA, and we have wonderful memories from 2016: it was a great tournament, and the fans were fantastic. Having a tremendous tournament with DOTA 2 enthusiasts in the stands after a long time will be great!”

PGL will announce more information about the tournament and tickets later during the season.

This is the first time that a Dota 2 Major will be hosted in North American (NA) soil since the Boston Major in 2016. However, since then, NA has hosted multiple premier tournaments including The International 7 (Key Arena, Seattle) and The International 8 (Rogers Arena, Vancouver).

The ESL One Los Angeles 2020 Major was scheduled to be the first major in the NA region. However, the tournament was postponed and later hosted online due to complications arising from the global lockdowns imposed during the year.
