After Lu "Somnus" Yao tested positive for COVID-19 earlier today, he was hospitalized and then competed in the Group Stages despite his infection. Royal Never Give up (RNG) has just confirmed that multiple team members including Daniel "Ghost" Chan Kok Hong, Hu "kaka" Liangzhi, Yang "Chalice" Shenyi and support staff have also tested positive for COVID-19.
Yap "xNova" Jian Wei is the only main roster member who did not test positive for the infection.
RNG releases statement on the matter
RNG released an update to its fans through Weibo, revealing that its pro players, general manager Lu “stms” Hao, and leader Liu Junyu had tested positive for COVID-19. The organization added that it hoped that everyone could recover as quickly as possible.
“The club will also work with the officials to strictly comply with all epidemic prevention measures and do a thorough job of health monitoring,” it stated in its announcement.
RNG maintained that the health and well-being of its players are a priority and assured that its frontline staff will do their best to take care of its players.
The team was just under the lens of the community after RNG forfeited its game against PSG.LGD earlier today. However, the Chinese team came back to compete against Hokori in its second match of the day. Its final match of the day is currently scheduled to be against Evil Geniuses. It will be interesting to see if RNG goes through with the match despite its obvious health issues.
The following is the RNG roster for TI11:
Daniel "Ghost" Chan Kok Hong - Carry
Lu "Somnus" Yao - Mid
Yang "Chalice" Shenyi - Offlane
Hu "kaka" Liangzhi - Soft Support
Yap "xNova" Jian Wei - Hard Support
