Fnatic’s run of back luck continues as it announced earlier today on Facebook that its star carry, Marc "Raven" Fausto will be temporarily sidelined for the remainder of the GAMERS GALAXY: Invitational Series HatYai Thailand 2022 due to an illness. Fnatic also announced that offlaner and former player Natthaphon "Masaros" Ouanphakdee will be standing in as Raven’s replacement, playing in the carry position. Fnatic are looking to bounce back from its Day 1 defeat against RSG, after a disappointing performance during the series.
Raven sidelined due to illness, Masaros to stand in for Fnatic.
Fnatic has had a turbulent month so far, after being knocked out early off the Arlington Major but managing to qualify for The International 2022 (TI11) by one Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) point ahead of Outsiders after a point discrepancy dispute between Liquipedia and Valve, with the latter confirming that Fnatic will receive the last direct invite to TI11 according to its calculation.
Following the confirmation of the invite, Fnatic traveled to HatYai, Thailand for the GAMERS GALAXY: Invitational Series HatYai Thailand 2022 in hopes of helping the team practice ahead of TI11, as well as the upcoming ESL One Malaysia 2022 next weekend as the team have not been together following the conclusion of the third tour of the DPC SEA Division I. Raven, Armel "Armel" Tabios and Jaunuel "Jaunuel" Arcilla were traveling to Indonesia in hopes of obtaining a United States (US) visa for the Arlington Major, only to be denied while the duo of Anucha "Jabz" Jirawong and Djardel "DJ" Mampusti attended the Major with three stand-ins from TSM.
However, following the defeat to RSG in the group stage yesterday, things went from bad to worse for Fnatic in Thailand as Raven fell ill after the match. Luckily for Fnatic, it managed to secure the aid of local and former player, Natthaphon "Masaros" Ouanphakdee for the remainder of the tournament as Raven will be temporarily sidelined to recover from the illness as the player will need to recover in time for his final LAN before TI11, ESL One Malaysia 2022 which starts on 23rd August.
Fnatic will be looking to bounce back from yesterday, where they will be facing against the revamped roster of Team SMG as well as Execration later today for the chance to qualify for tomorrow’s playoffs.
