Invictus Gaming (IG) absolutely decimated Team Spirit in the opening series of The International 10's (TI10) main event to secure themselves a Top 6 finish in the tournament. Although Team Spirit showed signs of life in Game 1 of the BO3 series, the Chinese powerhouse underlined their credentials in Game 2 and especially in Game 3 to secure the win. IG will now advance in to the next round of the upper brackets where they will face the winner of the Team Secret and OG matchup.

Team Spirit carves out a win with a surprise Double Damage Morphling

In Game 1 of the series, Team Spirit picked a late-game oriented lineup with Yatoro on the Morphling and TORONTOTOKYO on Invoker. However, they were pushed on to the backfoot by Invictus Gaming's aggressive play and headed into the late-game behind on networth.

Invictus Gaming Strike Back in Game 2 and 3

IG however did not crumble and struck back in game 2. The team chose to pick weaker lanes and emerged out of the laning phase, behind on kills, net worth and experience. But with clever ganks centered around JT's Doom, IG managed to climb themselves back into a winning position.

Team Spirit was simply unable to cope against JT's refresher Doom, as he wrecked havoc on the backlines and the frontlines simultaneously and secured the win.

Game 3 was just a flat out stomp. Even though Team Spirit showed some signs of momentum in the early stages of the game, IG just got kill after kill on Emo's Storm Spirit and FlyFly's Spectre with the heroes finishing the game with KDAs of 19/1/18 and 22/0/27 respectively.

Team Spirit will now face the winner of the Undying vs Fnatic match up in their first match of the lower bracket. It will be an interesting affair but Team Spirit will be considered as the favorite heading into this matchup.
