With the highly anticipated Riyadh Masters 2023 just around the corner, popular Dota 2 streamer Janne "Gorgc" Stefanovski has once again released a tier list for the 20 competing teams at the tournament.
Gorgc categorized each of the teams into 5 possible tiers, with the lowest being D-Tier and the highest being S-Tier. Once again, Gorgc has rated the teams based on their recent performances and his own understanding of how the teams will perform.
Gorgc believes BetBoom can beat Gaimin Gladiators
Similar to the streamer’s previous tier lists, he believes that Gaimin Gladiators are the top contenders to win the event, which would be the first time in Dota 2 history that a team has won every single Tier 1 tournament in a Dota 2 season apart from The International.
However, he does believe that BetBoom has the potential to take down Gaimin Gladiators, as seen by their record in Dreamleague Season 20.
Gorgc places the highest number of teams in the B-tier, with a total of 7 teams in the category, stating that they do have some potential to go far in the tournament. His A-tier teams are not much of a surprise, with teams such as Tundra Esports, Team Liquid, and PSG.LGD present, however, he also believes Southeast Asia (SEA) powerhouse Talon Esports is also strong enough to be in this category.
A notable mention from Gorgc's tier list is Team Spirit. While some fans may expect them to be in the C-Tier, the streamer stands firm in placing them in B-Tier. He also hesitates to demote any of the B-Tier teams like Team Secret, acknowledging Clement "Puppey" Ivanov's capability to lead his team far into the tournament.
With the tournament already having commenced and the first day of Play-In matches unfolding, it’s only a matter of time before the accuracy of Gorgc’s tier list is put to the test. One notable change from his usual tier lists is BetBoom being alongside Gaimin Gladiators in the S-tier, which is a match-up many fans will be looking forward to.
Group A of the Play-Ins consists of Entity, Execration, Team Aster, Team Liquid, TSM, and Virtus.pro.
Group B of the Play-Ins consists of 9Pandas, beastcoast, OG, Quest Esports, Team Secret, and Xtreme Gaming. A massive USD $15,000,000 will be on the line in this event.
