As teams have flown into Riyadh for the much-anticipated event, they have received some humorous arrival letters, out of which Gaimin Gladiators, BetBoom Team, and Tundra Esports took to social media to share these entertaining notes
The Play-Ins for the Riyadh Masters 2023 will take place from 19th July to 20th July, where 12 teams will compete through 2 groups in order to qualify for the Group Stages.
Gaimin Gladiators' Winning Wishes
Gaimin Gladiators, known for its dominant run in the 2023 Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) season, received a cheeky letter teasing it about its anticipated victory. The letter whimsically asked for the team's shipping address to deliver the trophy and requested its bank account information for the $5,000,000 first-place prize.
Additionally, the letter playfully referenced a memorable question posed to them during the Bali Major 2023 post-match interview, which was “How has your team made you a better person?”.
BetBoom Team’s callback to the Bali Major 2023 incident
BetBoom Team received a playful letter that poked fun at its Bali Major 2023 incident which involved player Ivan "Pure" Moskalenko getting disqualified from the tournament for alt+tabbing to watch a livestream, during a technical pause in the team's match against Tundra Esports.
The letter humorously alluded to putting Pure in a "plastic bubble" to ensure there are no distractions during the Riyadh Masters. The organizers playfully assured the team that the tournament would go smoothly, perhaps hinting at the hope for a clean and controversy-free performance this time around.
Tundra Esports and the Playbook of Tricks
Tundra Esports' arrival letter commended the team for being one of the few capable of consistently challenging Gaimin Gladiators. The organizers playfully suggested they stop allowing Team Liquid to attempt the same feat, implying that they should save their best strategies for the grand finals against the Gladiators.
In a tongue-in-cheek manner, the letter humorously hinted at providing Tundra with tools and information to expand their "nerdy" and "unfair" tactics outside the game, sparking some playful mischief.
The arrival letters received by Gaimin Gladiators, BetBoom Team, and Tundra Esports have added an element of humor leading up to the start of the Riyadh Masters 2023. With the tournament set to kick off on 19th July, fans and players alike can look forward to witnessing both intense competition and entertaining camaraderie among the participating teams. As the world's top Dota 2 professionals gather in Riyadh, the stage is set for a memorable and intense event.
