Evil Geniuses were on the verge of not qualifying for TI11 after their early exit in the PGL Arlington Dota Major 2022 Playoffs, after losing to Entity on a 1-2 defeat in their lower bracket match. Evil Geniuses' only hope of qualification left was to rely on South American organization beastcoast to defeat Fnatic, since the SEA team’s defeat would guarantee EG a ticket to TI11 that will be held in Singapore. Beastcoast managed to get the job done, defeating Fnatic 2-1 allowing Evil Geniuses to secure a direct invite to this year’s TI.

EG’s TI11 Hopes Kept Alive by Beastcoast.

Evil Geniuses were on the verge of not qualifying for TI11 after their defeat vs Entity in their lower bracket match at the PGL Arlington Dota Major 2022, exiting them from the major & not managing to grab any DPC points. To make things worse, EG were placed in 11th place which means that any team left below them that are still participating in Major could knock them out of a direct invitation to TI11. Fnatic & Outsiders were the only teams left in contention for a final slot for the invitation, however EG were mostly reliant on Fnatic’s match result vs Beastcoast as Fnatic’s defeat will lock them in for the final invitation slot at TI11.

EG’s relationship with Beastcoast is friendly, as the North American organization once helped Beastcoast to qualify for TI10 by defeating teams that threatened their invitation slot during the previous DPC season which meant that Beastcoast had a chance to repay the favor to EG by defeating Fnatic.

After Beastcoast defeated Fnatic 2-1 in their lower bracket match, not only did they deny Fnatic’s hope of a direct invite, they also repaid their debts to EG by allowing them to secure the invite to TI by DPC points. “For Arteezy” said K1 Hector in an all chat after securing the final game win vs Fnatic.

EG Players' Reaction to Beastcoast’s Victory

After the match, both EG and their players expressed their gratitude to Beastcoast for securing their TI11 invite. Here are some of the reactions:

Following Beastcoast’s victory over Fnatic, the 12 teams that will receive a direct invite to TI11 are finally confirmed with both EG & Outsiders claiming the final invitation slots. Those who didn’t will have to go through T11 Regional Qualifiers, with Western Europe & Southeast Asia regions being the most stacked qualifiers in recent years.
