Evil Geniuses has announced its newest Dota 2 roster that will be based in the South American (SA) region.
The North American (NA) organization recently released its roster as it looked to relocate to the South American region for the upcoming season.
The roster will consist of Crhistian “Pakazs” Savina, Jean "Chris Luck" Salazar, Adrián "Wisper" Dobles , Farith "Matthew" Huamancaja and Jose "Pandaboo" Hernandez.

The roster shuffle season is starting to gain momentum as Evil Geniuses has announced its newest Dota 2 roster that will be based in the South American region for the upcoming season. The roster has signed multiple members from the two best performing South American teams in The International 2022 (TI11), including Crhistian “Pakazs” Savina, Jean "Chris Luck" Salazar, Adrián "Wisper" Dobles, Farith "Matthew" Huamancaja, and Jose "Pandaboo" Hernandez.

The rise of South American players and organizations has led Evil Geniuses to invest into the region itself as it establishes a new Dota 2 roster in the form of former Thunder Awaken & beastcoast players.

Evil Geniuses recently released its former roster into free agency after a disappointing Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) season. The organization also left the NA region after an illustrious era where it won The International 2015 (TI5) on home soil.

EG to include former Thunder Awaken & beastcoast members

“Time to confirm the unconfirmed.” Evil Geniuses wrote in its announcement tweet where it confirmed the rumors surrounding its newest roster.

Following the announcement, Evil Geniuses’ roster for the 2022/2023 DPC season has been confirmed as follows: 

  1. Crhistian “Pakazs” Savina

  2. Jean "Chris Luck" Salazar

  3. Adrián "Wisper" Dobles

  4. Farith "Matthew" Huamancaja

  5. Jose "Pandaboo" Hernandez

  6. Juan David "Vintage" Angulo Nicho (coach)

Evil Geniuses recently announced that it had released its former roster following a disappointing Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) season. Additionally, Evil Geniuses CEO Nicole LaPointe Jameson hinted that the organization would be relocating to South America (SA) for its newest Dota 2 roster for the upcoming season as the region was on the rise in the latest iteration of The International (TI) where it achieved its first ever top six finish with Thunder Awaken.

The new EG rosters consists of former Thunder Awaken & beastcoast players, as both organization have announced the release of their respective players earlier in the off-season. The duo of Jean "Chris Luck" Salazar and Adrián "Wisper" Dobles left beastcoast after being a part of the longest unchanged roster in Dota 2 history, as the roster have been together for more than 4 years.

On the other side, the trio of Crhistian “Pakazs” Savina, Farith "Matthew" Huamancaja and Jose "Pandaboo" Hernandez have made their names well-known during the 2021/2022 DPC season with Thunder Awaken, which saw the organization dominate the regional league and achieving top six finishes at multiple LAN events, including The International 2022 (TI11).

Following the announcement, it is expected that Evil Geniuses will compete in the South American DPC for the upcoming season however it would have to let go of its spot in the NA region and acquire a spot in the SA region.
